The NSW Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is an evidence-based public health program that aims to reduce the transmission of infections such as HIV and hepatitis C among people who inject drugs and the broader community. NSP outlets provide new injecting equipment such as needles and syringes, Fitpacks and other injecting equipment (such as butterflies, filters, swabs, water, spoons and cotton balls) as well as disposal facilities free of charge.
Dieticians help people understand the relationship between food and health. Dieticians can help you make dietary choices to support your health, and to prevent and treat illness and disease.
Dieticians can assist with a range of conditions including diabetes, overweight, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, raised cholesterol, malnutrition, childhood feeding issues and tube feeding. They also see ‘Hospital in the Home’ patients.

Our Diabetes Educator provides diabetes education and support for people with diabetes and their families, either in one to one or group settings. They also work closely with the Diabetes Dietician. We see clients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as childhood diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy.
We also provide education to health care professionals and support promotional activities that encourage people with diabetes to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
We accept referrals from hospitals, GPs, Specialists and other health professionals.
The Transition Care Service offers goal-oriented, time-limited and therapy-focused care to help older people regain independence after a hospital stay. It provides older people with a package of services that includes low intensity therapy such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy, as well as social work, nursing support or personal care to maintain and improve physical or cognitive functioning.
The program aims to help older people return home after a hospital stay, rather than prematurely enter residential aged care.
Our community nurses provide a range of services including chronic and complex wound care, continence management, management of venous access devices, palliative care nursing, and referral to other care providers including allied health and the Aged Care Assessment Team.

Specialist Nurses in the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) service work with clients who have one or more diagnosed chronic conditions, have recently been in hospital, or are at risk of going to hospital and need help to manage their condition and stay well at home.
CDM services can help with locating the right type of care, as well as coordinating this care for the individual client to ensure they are well supported in the community. A Shared Care Plan can be developed for clients in the program together with their doctor and other health care professionals.
This service offers rehabilitation for clients with chronic cardiac and respiratory conditions and diseases. We provide education and support, case management and assist clients in managing their heart and respiratory conditions to improve their health.
We accept referrals from GPs, specialists, allied health professionals or self-referral.

Our Child and Family Health Nurses provide a range of services including:
* Developmental screening for children from birth to five years of age
* Home visits for new babies and follow ups
* Breastfeeding, maternal and infant nutrition support
* Immunisations
* Family health and welfare
* Parenting support
* Child health and development, including sleep and settling
We accept referral from individuals, maternity and health services, non-government agencies and other health professionals.
Immunisation Clinic
The Child and Family Counselling Service (CFCS) works with children aged 0-12 years and their families and carers, providing interventions to improve your health, well-being and functioning.
The CFCS provides both primary and specialist secondary care for children with more severe and complex psychological presentations.
We provide assistance for dealing with a range of behavioural difficulties, stress, anxiety and mood related problems. Where possible, the Child and Family Counselling Service works together with schools and pre-schools.
Audiometry (hearing) service mainly focused on children with hearing concerns in the Ballina shire.
This service is available to children three years and older. Children do not need a referral for this service.
Adults will require a referral from their GP or ENT specialist.
