No referral is required for children. Adults require a referral from a General Practitioner or medical specialist.

The Northern NSW Local Health District has a range of services aimed at helping you make positive changes to your alcohol and drug use. These include:
* Individual counselling support to reduce or stop your drug/alcohol use
* Hospital consultation and liaison for those at risk of alcohol or drug withdrawal (available at Tweed, Ballina, Lismore, and Grafton hospitals)
* The Riverlands Inpatient Withdrawal Unit at Lismore Base Hospital - medicated withdrawal from drugs or alcohol
We provide support to Aboriginal families with children under 5 years, and can also help parents and siblings in the family with any health concerns they may have.

Grafton Ambulatory Care – Community and Allied Health
The Women’s Health Clinic provides a wide range of services for women aged 14 and over, including pap test screening, breast checks, pregnancy testing and advice, postnatal checks, post termination checks, diaphragm fitting, continence assessment, limited STI screening.
Our Women’s Health Nurses can provide information on sexual health, reproductive health, menstruation, menopause, osteoporosis, relationship and lifestyle issues and contraception, as well as group or individual education programs.
Our Speech Pathologists work with adults and children to treat a range of swallowing and communication difficulties.
This can include:
* Eating and drinking - difficulties with swallowing drinks or chewing and swallowing food, including people with alternate feeding e.g. PEG, NG
* Speech - ability to speak clearly and be understood
* Language - difficulty thinking of words, organising and expressing ideas, understanding conversation, following directions and answering questions, reading and writing impairment following brain injury/stroke
Our Social Workers provide counselling on a range of issues including depression, grief, family conflict, adjusting to health changes and life stage changes, anxiety and stress, and work issues.
Our trained counsellors can also provide support to help with raising children and learning parenting strategies.
Social Workers also provide a service to hospital inpatients and their families. Palliative Care and bereavement counselling is also available.

Our sexual assault service provides a 24-hour crisis response team for children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault, indecent assault, or attempted sexual assault.
We also provide counselling and forensic medical assessment and care immediately after sexual assault and in the following weeks and months.
We provide information and support for non-offending parents, carers, partners, siblings or family members of children or adults who have been affected by sexual assault.
Respiratory services are free programs for people with long term lung conditions. They include Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Respiratory education services.

Pulmonary rehabilitation is an evidence-based program for people with long term respiratory conditions. It is run by a team that can include nurses, physiotherapists and exercise physiologists. It focuses on:
Our experienced Physiotherapists provide assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal, respiratory and neurological conditions for children and adults of all ages. Our staff will assess your condition and work with you to develop an individual treatment plan. Most treatment plans involve education, self-management strategies, specific exercise programs, and physiotherapy techniques.
Physiotherapists service the hospital and provide clinics and various rehabilitation programs. Referral is required for our adult service through your GP, specialist or other agency.
