EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

If you need mental health care, please phone the Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511 or go to your nearest hospital Emergency Department. If it’s an emergency, please phone triple zero (000) immediately.

The Mental Health Line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will connect you with the right care for your individual situation, no matter where you live in NSW. It is not a telephone counselling service.

In Northern NSW Local Health District, we have a range of adult, adolescent, and child mental health services. Depending on your individual needs, you may be admitted to one of our five mental health inpatient units, or you may receive support and assistance through our community-based services.

At Tweed Valley Hospital, we have an acute adult inpatient mental health unit providing intensive psychiatric care for people who are experiencing mental illness and mental disorder. Tweed Community Mental Health is also located on the hospital campus and provides community-based mental health interventions and support.
