Community Update - Health Service Changes: 3 March 2022

We are continuing to support our staff and communities affected by the extreme weather and flooding events in Northern NSW.

Ballina District Hospital has now reopened while other health services have been affected as follows:


 
Update on Ballina District Hospital evacuation

The evacuation of all 55 patients from Ballina District Hospital was successfully completed at around 1am this (Wednesday) morning.

All patients and staff are now safely located at Xavier Catholic College, where patient care continues.

Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) is evacuating Ballina District Hospital due to rising flood waters.


 
Public Health Advice - Beware risks of flood water

The North Coast Public Health Unit is reminding people to avoid contact with floodwater as much as possible to reduce the risks of injury, sickness or infection.
