EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our Kids volunteers
Published: 13 May 2025

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Our Kids and its signature events, which raise vital funds for paediatric equipment at our hospitals.

The roles of Our Kids volunteers vary, from being on Board or event committees, packing competitor gift bags, hanging fairy lights and setting up black-tie events to marshalling participants at the Samson and the Darrel Chapman Fun Run.

“Our Kids volunteers make it all happen,” Our Kids Fundraising Coordinator Rebekka Battista said.

“Many of our volunteers have been personally touched by the work of Our Kids and their dedication reflects that connection.”

Last year alone, more than 260 volunteers generously gave their time to support the Our Kids team across a variety of events.

“Thank you to every single person who has contributed their time, energy and heart,” Rebekka said.

“Volunteers hold a special and significant place in the Our Kids Family. We couldn’t do it without you.”
