EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In the 24 hours to 8pm Thursday 21 May, one suspect case of COVID-19 in Northern NSW Local Health District has been excluded after further investigation.

This person was located in the Ballina Local Government Area.

This is in addition to another case which was excluded in Ballina on Wednesday, 20 May.

To ensure we minimise spread of the virus, suspect cases may be managed as confirmed cases while further investigations are undertaken, which may include additional testing.

This reduces the total number of confirmed cases in the LHD to 55.

Of these 55 cases, 51 are now recovered. There are no cases being treated in hospital.
